A site everyone can use.
We work to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. If you hit a barrier, please tell us — we'll fix it.
Our commitment
Good Life Insurance Group is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Good Life Insurance Group is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy across all pages.
- Skip-to-main-content link in our top navigation for keyboard users.
- Color contrast ratios that meet WCAG AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI elements).
- All interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields) reachable and operable via keyboard alone.
- Visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
- Form fields are paired with explicit
<label>elements. - Decorative images marked with empty
altattributes; meaningful images include descriptive alt text. - Native HTML elements (e.g.,
<dialog>,<details>) used over custom JavaScript widgets where possible. - Forms include accessible inline error messages and clear required-field markers.
prefers-reduced-motionrespected for users who opt out of animation.- Phone numbers tagged with
tel:links for screen readers and mobile users.
Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, some areas of the site may not yet be fully accessible:
- The embedded Google Maps iframe on the contact page is provided by a third party and may have accessibility limitations outside our control.
- Some PDF documents (e.g., older versions of the Will Kit) may not have full screen-reader-friendly tagging. We're remediating these on an ongoing basis.
- The CallRail dynamic phone-swap script is third-party — we monitor for accessibility regressions but cannot directly modify the vendor's code.
